Day 18 - Leaf Print

Borderland State Park

Oh no! Forgot yesterday's photo - so here are two from today! They were taken during a fantastic walk at Borderland State Park. We had so much fun wandering the frozen ponds and admiring the historic buildings. Well worth a trip. The credit for finding the nest goes to my husband and a friend, who were awesome enough to point it out to me. The door belongs to the Ames' Mansion, a lovely stone building nestled gently into the landscape around it. I will definitely be going back when things are green and growing!

I was hoping the alien landscape of snow-encrusted trees against a blue/gray sky would hold out until my lunch break... but it didn't. Everything had started to melt by then, and the sky had clouded over. But, where there is melting snow, there is water...
