Annie Leibovitz got her start at Rolling Stone magazine, which was itself brand new at the time. She now works for Vanity Fair. Over her career she has pushed the boundaries of conventional portraiture, creating intimate, artistic photographs. She often works with celebrities and was notably the last person to photograph John Lennon before his death.
Her career is a testament to the fact that one can make a living as a photographer while still retaining artistic integrity.

I remember when that Demi Moore cover came out, it was such a scandal, everyone talked about it. But it's a gorgeous picture, completely tasteful and shows the true beauty of pregnancy/motherhood.
