With temperatures in the high 90s and reaching into the 100s, and so much humidity that it actually felt like it was sprinkling outside, it's been quite the heat wave here in Rhode Island. What better time to kick back on the deck with a glass of wine and some grilled pizza topped with produce from the garden (well, at least the pesto and summer squash). Add an African violet that's been in the family for 22 years (an heirloom from my paternal Grandmother), and you've got a pretty nice summer evening.

This week I realized how much I enjoy baking with my Grandmother's measuring cups.

I took a few moments today to unplug. A new (important) part of my daily routine is to spend time each morning doing yoga or meditating. Today I made use of this excellent resource: Sunrose Yoga Podcast, which I found via Kind over Matter.

Let me tell you, moving my yoga mat and props right into my office was a very good move. No excuses when the tools are right there in front of you, reminding you they exist.
