[One Moment]

Today, I was blessed with a few hours of ...waiting... I had my camera with me. Potentially excruciating boredom became a gift of time.

Tis a Gift

The Wonders of Nature

Not sure what it is about pink flowers lately, but I've been a bit obsessed.

Transitions

I've been a little unwell lately and haven't taken too many new photographs. Now that I'm on the mend I'm planning to spend some quality time with my camera, especially if it's not too cold for a trip to the beach!

How are you all doing, dear readers? What imagery are you craving this spring?

Life is But a Dream

In the midst of about a bajillion other things going on, not the least of which are some unwelcome house guests (carpenter ants), I had a fabulous thing happen today. The macro attachment for my Lensbaby arrived in the mail! I think you can probably guess what I will be doing while the pest control folks are evicting my visitors...

Need a hint? Two words: Outside + Close Up. (OK that's technically 3 words.)

In the meantime, I've been contentedly playing with the plain Jane version of my Lensbaby Control Freak, though I've been using it more like a "Muse". Experimentation is fun, fun, fun.

Leaves!

The trees are just starting to leaf out, sprinkling green confetti across the skies.

Hump Day Happiness Strikes Again!

I'm in a pretty good mood today. How about you? I do hope you'll play along and share some of your happinesses. (Even if you've had a bad day, what better way to improve your mood?)

Today, I am grateful for...

1) My lovely readers, who have started to vote on my poll - so helpful!
2) Waking up with lots of energy this morning (I'm usually a night owl).
3) Knowing how to crochet
4) Leftover olive tapenade for lunch - yum!
5) Warm sweaters on chilly days.

Your turn!

One Morning in Late October

I did get up a little early this morning, to run around outside with my new-to-me lensbaby.

Ohhhh Baby.... Lensbaby that is!

I love B&H Photo. I love their used section. But you know who I love more? My husband, who got me a beautiful Lensbaby Control Freak from B&H Photo's used section as a birthday gift. The "Composer" was on my wish list, but as it turns out the Control Freak suits me just fine... and a used one in mint condition at a fraction of the price - how can you go wrong? With the Control Freak I can take a photo without using all of the bells and whistles, or I can fine tune. It's like the best of both worlds! (Click for a larger version of the photo below.)

I cannot wait until daylight to play with this thing more (my living room is a bit dim for this purpose). Will it get me up early to shoot before going to the day job? It just might...
